PSP » Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth » ReviewsGreatReviewed by i_love_games11 on October 31, 2006 | report this review So Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth is game that was taken from the PS version of Valkyrie Profile. This game was made from Squaresoft about 7 years ago when the PS was a big hit and before Square had joined with Enix. This RPG was the greatest hit for many reasons.. it had voices made in to each charcater, and the CG videos were gorgeous to look at. Now Square-enix has revived the game with more CG videos and the exact great gameplay that was released on the PS. Valkyrie Profile takes place where gods and humans live together in a world, where gods rules the skies as they watch over the humans. Lenneth which is the main character of the game, in whom you control through out most of the game is a Valkyrie. Her job as a death goddess as most humans refer to her as, takes a role in giving another life to dead human souls. You will be raveling with a lot of differnet unique characters that you will meet during your journey. Each character has there own story and persaonlity with unique special spells that can help you endure the quest. The king of gods known as Odin in this game, summons you as a Valkyrie to prepare for a battle that awaits the gods. After he summons you, he gives you some details on what your journey will have to be when you head to the lower earth known as the human world. You have to recruit different types of human souls that are well trained as a warrior or magician to help the gods battle the evil forces. There is only a matter of time to find and train your human souls before the end of the day "Ragnarok" arrives. The gameplay controls are almost similar to the ones on the PS version. Not much has changed since then except that the screen has gone smaller. So your way of transportation in the human world is mostly flying. Yes you will fly, since you are a god your not going to walk from town to town. A simple press and hold on the button of O will let you travel through the skies like a bird. You will journey into towns that have a blue or red arror that points down to it. A press on the X buttton will pop the towns name and data to see where youll be heading. There is also the yellow color for dungeons that are specifically desgin for it so you wont have problems finding it. Each dungeon has many monsters to deal with, now this is there the change of gameplay comes into action and it differs from MOST rpgs. Before ya hit into battle, youll have a chance to decide if you want to fight the opponent or not. The square button will let you crystalize the enemy stopping its movement and you can easily hop over it. The other decision you can take is hitting it with your sword which gives you first advantage in the battle. If you run into the enemy with out doing both.. you will have a slight disadvantage since the enemy might get first hit. So once your into the battle system, each character is represented by each button on the psp. Square for one character, and X for another and so on. The battle system takes place in a turn base situ |
